‘He Waka Eke Noa’ (HWEN) is a pilot project to create career and development opportunities for NZers in global open source cloud computing.

Supported by Bay of Plenty tech company ‘ii’ and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, HWEN is leading the development of a highly collaborative approach to increasing participation in technology careers, through a Te Ao Māori (Māori worldview) lens.

With a worldwide demand in specialised skillsets such as ‘Kubernetes’, our team is working alongside numerous education providers, businesses, agencies and community members to increase awareness and access to quality training courses and industry networks to kickstart careers in the sector.
